At Lomers, we believe in giving back to the community, and each year, we support a chosen charity. In 2023/2024, we proudly raised over £2,000 for Chestnut Tree House, helping provide vital care for children with life-limiting conditions.
For 2025, our chosen charity is deeply personal. Towards the end of 2024, two of our colleagues lost their daughter and sister, Kyrie Slark. Kyrie was a devoted mother, known for her kindness, energy, and determination. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in her teenage years, she faced the challenges of daily management with courage. Sadly, she passed away on 23rd September 2024 due to renal failure.
Throughout her journey, the Beacon Ward at Worthing Hospital provided outstanding care and support to both Kyrie and her family. To honour her memory, we are fundraising for My University Hospitals Sussex, with a tribute to the incredible team at Beacon Ward.
This charity works tirelessly to enhance care across Sussex hospitals, funding projects beyond core NHS resources. From wellbeing spaces and children’s bravery presents to rehabilitation tools and support for new mums, their work makes a real difference to patients and staff.
How You Can Help
We’ve already raised £100 through customer-donated furniture sales and have more fundraising initiatives planned:
- Sponsoring the Wisborough Green Run – A team from Lomers will be taking part to raise funds in Kyrie’s memory.
- Furniture Donations – We are buying and selling donated furniture, with proceeds going directly to the charity.
- Henfield Common Fair – We are supporting the event this year with a stand and competition with proceeds going directly to the charity.
Together, we can honour Kyrie’s memory and support the incredible work of My University Hospitals Sussex.
